The purpose of this report is to guide future planning decisions towards outcomes that are supportive of public transport, especially bus services. This effort has been informed by the challenges confronted and lessons learned by the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Local Authorities in Ireland.
The focus of this document is on how urban developments can be configured to bring about an increase in the level of bus use, bringing benefits to the economy, the environment, and the community.
