In this webinar, we will discuss what makes a brilliant bus stop, and how a National Bus Stop Standard would work.
When bus stops are comfortable and sheltered, with clear information on display, it makes catching the bus a pleasure and encourages more people on board. But Campaign for Better Transport's recent 'Better Bus Stops' report, supported by Trueform, revealed that too many bus stops are poorly-equipped, lacking even the most basic information.
Only half of survey respondents said their nearest bus stop has a shelter
Only 31 per cent have an up-to-date timetable
Just 16 per cent have access to live updates about bus arrivals
To solve this problem, Campaign for Better Transport is calling for a National Bus Stop Standard, which would require all bus stops to provide a minimum level of facilities and information.
